The Meteors of Summer - The 2021 Perseids

This August 12th the annual Perseid Meteor shower should peak, at a time when moonlight is relatively absent and the sky fairly dark.  These are prime conditions for viewing meteors, but just as significant this year, it is just barely possible that some cautious get togethers might finally be possible without undue viral  risk!  We’ll discuss these spectacular sights in the sky and explore their amazing journey through space and time, touching upon their regularity and the reasons for it.  We’ll also discuss best ways to enjoy this summer sky show.  Hint – no telescopes required, though a lounge chair is a plus.  This is astronomy for couch potatoes.  Heads Up!
